May 26: On Nostalgia. Or Maybe Not.

Not one to be overly nostalgic, but as I was walking around IKEA one day, it occured to me that 15 years ago I was already walking around IKEA thinking how cool it would be to have my own home someday.

I sill don't have my own home.

It makes the 15 years I've worked in the company feel a bit hollow.

I hit that milestone some time in early May. Didn't realise until many days later.

During the actual anniversary I was probably in Terengganu, a place I hadn't been to since 2023.

Thankfully still have vague memories of all the good-ish food places from the last time I was here. 

Ran the Terengganu Marathon.

100% the warmest run I’ve ever had in my life, despite the fact it rained halfway through.

Timing's still shit - but let's blame that on the temperature.

Mum dropped by. Always good to have her around.

Had a rare family dinner.

No idea why I'm standing like I'm about to defend a David Beckham freekick.

Kiddo went for her first school trip. She’s really taken to school like a duck to water (thankfully). Presume having an older sister helps.

Celebrated Mother’s Day.

Celebrated Raya Haji (sat on the famous family sofa).

+

Ran around a little bit more.

I've signed up for many random runs, some in weird places. Not sure if I'll end up doing all of them.

Checked in to Semantan 1000 times.

Long before MySejahtera was a thing, I was already being a nerd by checking in to most places I go to.

Having my patience tested by a couple of projects at work.

I only hope it turns out to be useful to someone somewhere.
