Apr 26: On Everything, Everywhere All At Once

I’ll keep this short. In April:

The last bits of Syawal came and went.

+

We visited the upgraded Dataran Merdeka. It looks really good these days. Unlike some of the city's other vibrant night spots, this one had a more local feel to it.

+

Adik started school. She resisted for a very long time, but she’s finally there. She has settled well, though, so I am both happy and proud of her.

+

Kakak was overheard asking why she didn’t have a big sister to guide her when she started school. As an eldest child myself, I could relate.

+

Kakak also had her sukaneka. I’m pleased to report she is rapid for her age. But I think we've already sort of established that.

+

My earphones stopped working. I got it as a gift from my close friends years back, and it has been with me through literally everything. It stopped working after I went on a lengthy training run in a thunderstorm. You will be missed.

+

I ran the Cybercity half-marathon this year. I usually feel sluggish the first run after Ramadan. This was no different.

+

I attended my first annual general meeting. I’ve only just learned that there’s a class of people who go around attending AGMs for the gifts and free lunches. I found that quite amusing.

+

We went hours without electricity on a particularly warm night amidst a heatwave. Something exploded, and firefighters had to be dispatched to put out the fire, but TNB took hours (and dozens of calls) to restore the electricity. A bunch of us neighbours were hanging out on the street in our jammies at 3 in the morning. It’s the first time I’ve ever met any of them.

+

I made it to Rembayung. It was ok. It wasn't super fantastic, but it wasn't bad either. The one thing I will say is that the prices were reasonable. Sorry, I didn't keep any of the photos from this outing.

+

I also went to a vegetarian place called The Ganga Cafe with Riz. It was surprisingly good. No photos here either.

Safe to say I'd make a terrible food blogger.

+

I know I said I'd keep it short, but somehow I've rambled on for too long.

Bye.
