Jan 26: On A Tranquil Start

The start to 2026 has been subdued.

For me, it was all about getting back into the swing of things at work.

For the eldest kiddo, it was about going back to school to see her friends again.

For the younger kiddo, it was about resisting kindergarten (so far, she's been successful in negotiating with her mama).

Took the kids to Petrosains. I’ve not been in there for non-work stuff despite having been based in the same building for about 15 years, so it was somewhat fascinating for me too.

Did most of my January socialising at the park.

Other than that, it has been kinda sedate.

In fact, the most existing thing is that everyone thinks I look like this chap. I’ve had more than a few people forward me his photo.

But no, I’ve not joined UMNO. And Zahid is not my buddy.

I spend way too much time perfecting my virtual city on Cities Skylines 2 to be of any political use, either to UMNO, Zahid or anyone else.

I did make time for a January run, though. Skipped the one most people went for and signed up for a lesser-known one.

Explains why I finished this high up. I might print this and frame it.

But more importantly, I still haven’t bought my shoes (that I don’t need), despite having tried them 9,750 times (in a variety of fancy colours, if I may add).

This was probably try number 9,050

However, I did buy a couple of second-hand RAM sticks (amidst a critical worldwide shortage).

I have no idea why I did it, because the RAM sticks are too advanced for my processor and my motherboard (which means I’ll have to get two of those at some point, too).

Decision-making? Not my best trait.

Impulsiveness? Top tier.

I hope you won't have to hear about any more of my weird decisions next month.

Til then, goodbye.
