Oct 25: On Running Too Much

I’ve just realised I have no backup plan in the event I’m let go from my job.

I think I’d sign up to be an askar wataniah (which would occupy me for a week), but beyond that, I really don’t have a clue what I’d do.

But I digress.

Second last post of the year. Let’s go.

A rare reunion with my side of the family (including unofficial members), in conjunction with my sister’s birthday.

Then came what people call the Hari Raya for runners - SCM KL. So many people!

Let’s not speak of my time; the best thing to come out of it was the picture. I doubt I‘ll ever have another running solo on a stadium track. If only I didn’t look like I had spotted a cendol store at the finish line.

My other toenail dropped off – but I don't think that's interesting, so we’ll move right along.

Ran again. I forgot I signed up for this until four or five days before the event. My rule of doing only one paid run per month went out the window.

During the run, I overtook Michelle Chua, but she was clearly only out for a morning jog. When she decided to be serious 1km from the end, she overtook me as if I was standing still - and I began to question my life choices.

Went on a Genting getaway. Enjoyed the cold weather. Too many people up there, though.

It rained a lot while we were up there, but the moment we got back home, the heatwave started up again.

Ran yet again, but this time in a team with Khayra.

The kid is fast. We finished fourth -the teams ahead of us were boys and their parents. I seriously think she can accompany this old man when I sign up to do the veteran’s Tokyo Marathon. Maybe.

Trump came. And left. I had fun tracking all the weird planes in our sky. Love the call-signs the Yanks give themselves.

And I’ve started playing Cities: Skylines again. I truly am wasting too much time on it.

On that note, I think I'll continue playing my saved game now. Bye.
