July 25: On Letting Little Joy In My Life
A low-key month deserves a low-key post.
And that’s precisely how the previous month turned out.
In fact, one could argue that a grammatically incorrect message scribbled on my coffee cup subtly foreshadowed the rest of the month.

True enough, I let as little joy in as possible |
Spent nearly two weeks with a blocked nose. Took me ages to get well again – and the terrible haze didn’t help.
I recovered in time to run a half-marathon – which went surprisingly well. So well, in fact, that I doubt I’ll ever go that fast again. It was just one of those days where everything felt OK.
I may look I am, but I swear I'm not depressed |
A bit after that, I went to donate blood. I don’t usually look at the needle but this time I felt compelled to have look. That was a terrible mistake.
And while we're on the subject of mistakes, I scraped a wall with my car, which required it to be in the workshop for a bit.
But other than that, nothing else of note happened.
I feel sorry for you if you've read it all the way up until this point. Please get on with your life now.
Goodbye.
