June 25: On Glorious Gopeng

OK, the title doesn't really make sense.

But I did get round to exploring some of the stuff around my home, such as:

The Gaharu Tea Valley...

...and the Hobbitoon Village.

These things aren't actually very far away from my childhood home, and it was a good way to keep the kids somewhat entertained while they're in my hometown.

There are a couple of other things that I'll keep for our next trip home - whenever that may be.

In other news, Khayra turned seven. And the wife turned thirty-seven. The MIL turned sixty-something. June is known for a succession of birthdays.

We (minus the MIL) ended up at a staycation in the heart of the city, which was a good break.

And while we were there we visited a cat cafe, where I patted a Sphynx cat for the very first time.

Energy Asia came and went. I dropped by for a bit just to "make my presence felt".

Only took 30 seconds for my social battery to run out, though. Thankfully, I had gone with a friend who ended up taking over the socialising - glad she was there.

I also went to watch the national team at the stadium for the first time in a long time - so now my grand vision is to attend an international away match some day.

Really doubting if that will ever happen, though.

Oh, and I staged a little intervention for myself. I sold a pair of running shoes and returned another.
Suddenly realised I had way too many relative to the amount of runs I make.

And that concludes my self-ramble for this month. Before I go though, I thought I'd share a tweet that I thought was sobering:

Nuts, innit?

Bye.
