Jan 24: On The Year of the Snake
I wonder what my maternal grandfather would think if he had lived long enough to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Here we all are during our recent Chinese New Year gathering. If I told you the majority of us descended from the same man, most people would think I was joking.
Speaking of which, on the the second day of Chinese New Year, a few of us tried our hand at pickleball.
My uncle ended up in the hospital because of this session, so it won't be something we'll forget in a hurry. Uncle is okay, though.
A main highlight of the past month was my eldest graduating from kindergarten.
I'm very proud of her and I always pray she inherits only the best parts of me. Judging by how much more outgoing she is compared to me, I think she's on the right track.
She’ll be going to school soon. I hope she’ll be a brave girl and find school a wee bit more exciting than her daddy ever did.
Aside from that, I watched my first movie at the cinema in years. Think the last time I watched a movie a ticket still cost less than RM15. It certainly costs more than that now :)
And lastly, I completed my first run of 2025.
I hit a total of 600km last year which isn't really much but it's still five times more than I'd ever done before (what a couch potato!). I'll be wanting to hit that again in 2025.
And that pretty much sums up my month - full of little moments that made it meaningful. Here’s to hoping for even greater adventures ahead in the Year of the Snake!
