Democracy... Malaysian Style

On July 2, Wall Street Journal published a report claiming money was improperly deposited in Najib's bank account.

20 days later, after much dithering from all involved - we're still wondering whether Najib is going to sue WSJ for (what he says) are false accusations.

On July 26, the Deputy Prime Minister (rightfully) asked for a proper explanation on 1MDB.

2 days later, he is no longer part of the Cabinet.

On top of that, in a display of testicular fortitude not seen since Mahathir's day, the Attorney-General is also sacked along with several other ministers. Special mention goes to the "promotion: of four members of the Public Accounts Committee to the Cabinet (presumably for doing a fantastic job in ensuring the prudent spending of public monies).

Surely alarm bells must be ringing even for the most blinkered of Najib fans? And if it still isn't then surely that itself is a bigger concern?
