Imagine...

Imagine, your company wanted to send you for a business attachment programme but they keep you completely in the dark about everything and the only thing you hear about are the "unofficial" updates you get from your immediate superior.

Imagine, you get your attachment letter on the 15th and are expected to report to the new place on the 16th. You get to your new place on the 16th and obviously no one knows what to do with you because no one was expecting you. You've not been briefed on anything and neither have the people receiving you. Cue a bunch of blur faces.

Imagine, barely two weeks in, your entire team travels to Europe for a month. Except you. They finally determine at the last minute that this attachment is supposed to be "domestic" based. You're sat at an office where you barely know anyone with fuck all to do.

Imagine, whatever little you do have to do while your team is away - no one cares about it. No one. They're busy gallivanting in Europe. You try to talk to your boss. She says she's sure "it's in good hands".

Imagine, your team gets back and surprise - everything's not to their liking. They start changing everything and then they tell you they expected it to have been sorted while they were away.

Imagine, your team generally disappears 75% of the time. They're either late in, early out, working from home or working from the hair salon. Then one fine day your boss tells you that she thinks you're missing from the office a lot because I had the audacity to go for a coaching session for half a day.

Imagine, everyone's always late for everything. Meetings, con-calls, everything. As the new guy, you accept it as the culture, particularly as the boss never seems to be bothered by it. Then one fine day your boss tells you she thinks you don't give a shit about stuff because you don't look for your teammates when they're late.

Imagine, you apply for leave and you're made to feel super guilty about it because you're told the dates coincided with the arrival of the big boss from Europe (who you've never been introduced to, have never met and have never seen). "It would be nice if you were around," they tell you. Turns out, the boss never came. And in fact, your entire team went on leave too. And they went on longer leaves than you did.

So...

Imagine, what my response would be if you told me all of the above happened to you? :)
