RVP

This is possibly the first time I've looked forward so much to the start of a new Premier League season. For some years now I've watched marquee players sign for other clubs: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and more recently the likes of Manchester City and Paris St. Germain.

But for once, just this once, we've gotten ourselves a proven, top-class player. None of that "one-for-the-future" and "the next Ronaldo" bullshit.

If anything, I'd say this transfer is already half-a-success on the basis of morale boost alone.
